This will be enhanced with more of your friends having already accomplished the problem area. Take the locker out and you are going to hammer it through every problem sometimes backing up further and with more wheel speed each time. If you are locked, no matter what axle assembly, you generally will have an easier time going over even the mildest bumps. If you go wheeling with a group, particularly one more equipped, and go on trails that are challenging for your vehicle, you are going to follow everyone else and attempt everything they do and you are going to do so with more gusto with every slip of your tire. It really depends on what the driver puts him/herself into. But if you take all the elements of wheeling into factor sometimes a locker can do less damage.
